CASC awarded campus safety and security contract
Camp and School Consulting was recently awarded an extended contract for
security and campus safety improvements for St. Hope Public Schools in
Sacramento, California. St. Hope Public Schools, founded by former NBA
star Kevin Johnson (Phoenix Suns), operates Sacramento High School and
PS7 Elementary School as charter schools in Sacramento. St. Hope Public
Schools chose to take a proactive, comprehensive approach to improving
student safety and the campus environment.
Company President Dan Gelineau, following a safety audit of the campus,
presented 53 security and campus safety upgrade recommendations to the
St. Hope Cabinet. 51 of the recommendations were adopted by the board,
while 2 items were tabled for further consideration. Numerous improvements
in physical security were installed, as well as changes in policies, procedures,
schedules and personnel assignments. The result has been a remarkable
change in campus atmosphere and an improved sense of safety and security
for students and faculty at the school.
As well as addressing security concerns, emergency preparedness and crisis
response plans were developed and instituted for both the Sacramento High
School and the PS7 elementary school campuses.
